Thank you my little butter hearts!

Well, I think everything I've wanted since the beginning of January is happening.... I mean, having a crack assistant, a new apartment, an office (YEAHHH)... I'm overwhelmed. Exhausted but terribly happy, I really do have tons of subjects I'd like to talk about with you, and it looks like it's going to be a great time for creating lots of new articles! I want to expand the DIY section with paper DIYs, and we're starting today.

But first, I'd like to thank you for your love and patience. Last Wednesday, I was lucky enough to meet so many of you. It was a bit crazy - I felt like a sort of Johnny Halliday (all things considered...). Even if I wasn't particularly comfortable in this role of real character, because yes, when I opened this blog, I chose to hide behind my computer, and all of a sudden, it was a shock to find myself right back in the thick of things. Thank you for your looks, your words and all the kindness you showed me throughout the evening. I couldn't have wished for a better way to celebrate 2 years of Make My Lemonade by meeting you all...

Getting back to business, I wanted to talk to you about Little Fashion Gallery, with whom I regularly collaborate, who launched a "MIAM" collection a while ago (I dream that the famous pink "MIAM" sweater will exist in 16 years at least...) and their new website website. And for the occasion of this gourmet collection, I imagined an all-paper set with French fries, burgers, giant cupcakes, as well as donut and hotdog headbands: everything goes well as always in my head. I absolutely loved doing the styling for this series, the collections on the site are really fresh and I wish I were 6 years old in 2014. But luckily I've got lots of babies on the way and I'm going to have a blast! The photos were taken by Gaetan Bernard and retouched by Charlotte EvrardStyling assistant Léonie Escolivet and set design assistant Charlotte Sagory. Make-up and hairstyling by Nelly Chatagnon du super Make my beauty.

Today it's a double post, a bit of CANDY EYES and a bit of DIY, because today you'll be able to learn how to make paper donuts from the set design of this Little Fashion Gallery series! These doughnuts can be used in an infinite number of ways, for photocalls, invitations, or to garnish with confetti, so have fun once again!

  •  Cost: almost nothing, or just a few euros, as this DIY is made entirely of paper.
  • Time: less than 30 min for the first donut, and even less for the following ones!
  • Difficulty: Easy if you're not watching House of Card in VO at the same time.

For this DIY you'll need:

  • - 9 strips of beige paper (download pattern) HERE )
  • - 9 pieces of pink paper (or desired icing color, pattern HERE )
  • - Confetti or glitter
  • - A ruler
  • - Glue
  • - A blunt scalpel

First, use the ruler and blunt scalpel to mark the grooves for easier folding (use the dotted lines).

Then preform each part by folding the dotted lines between your fingers. Repeat these tracing operations with the icing.

Glue the pink icing to the beige paper, edge to edge. By the way, you can choose to make your icing in any color, or with paint (gouache with little water...).

Glue the little tab and form a ring to make the first of 9 donut sections.

Continue with the other eight sections, and you can already see your donut taking shape.

Then glue the tabs of the sections, and start gluing them together.

Be patient and precise to get a clean result: gently nest the sections into each other and wait a few seconds for the glue to dry, pinching the different parts to be glued between your fingers.

Once your donut is fully assembled, you can move on to the confetti stage!

Put some glue on your confetti and stick them one by one on your donut in a random fashion. And TA-DA!
