Happy Monday to all,

Here's a little sweetness to start the week! This story of ephemeral jewelry with MaiWe've been wanting to talk about it for a while now. 2 years ago, she was the guest editor of ModZik magazine and asked me to imagine fruit and flower jewelry for the portrait of singer Kelis (yes, yes, totally). For the shoot, I'd brought lots of my own jewelry that I'd flowered. I used the jewels as a base to weave the flowers inside, using them as a sieve before covering them completely. Extremely delicate, terribly fragile and photogenic. Mai and I promised each other that day that we'd do something with the idea. And I'm delighted to bring you this Mother-Daughter shoot with Mai and Tâm, which is so topical!

Tam wears a sweater The animals observatory and a skirt Bontonand in the previous photo Mai is wearing a sweatshirt Samoe Samoe.

I love these two, they're such accomplices, so curious about everything, so creative and so beautiful too. Tâm is 10 years old, deliriously beautiful and already has the freedom and non-conformism that make Mai so strong. And Mai I'm not going to introduce you to, but for me, she's really a very beautiful person, a complete beauty. She has that madness and light that made me love her from the moment I first saw her. And her thunderous laughter rings out every time she decides to drop by the office. Mai has a gift for making things real through the lens of her camera, making films about beauty in general that she only publishes on her website. her websiteMai is also a color designer, which means she builds color palettes for the cosmetics industry, and she also chooses juice colors for perfumes. If that's not an incredible profession! She has that hyper-sensitivity that can move you to tears over an orange safety vest worn in front of a turquoise wall... Since I've met her, I find myself breathless at the beauty of the juxtaposition of colors in my daily life! Well, at last I've introduced you to Mai again!

Tam wears a yellow poplin dress The animals observatory and Mai wears a blouse Sister Jane and a mauve perfecto Schott.

And what I've always loved as long as I've known her is watching her be a mom. Mai has two children: Tâm and Léo. She has a very different relationship with both of them. And as I write these lines, I think it would have been great to do this shoot with Léo, even if I think he would have had a slightly wilder side than his sister! I have the impression that the relationship between Mai and her children is very harmonious, I love the way she listens to them, probes them and tries to understand them every day, she also questions herself and I think it's very cool to imagine that just because they're 7 and 10 years old doesn't mean they're wrong... Mai answered a great interview with Maman de Géraldine Dormoy last year, which I recommend you read!

And I love Mai's way of looking for herself, of seeking answers through her website, of asking questions about her personal life, of finding fulfillment in her work, and of finding the peace to be a better parent as a result. Mai is currently working on her first feature-length film, in which she will tell the stories of the women in her family, but in the end, the stories will have something very universal about them... A few years ago, she was told that she came from a line of very unhappy women, and so she decided that for Tâm, she wanted her to build on something other than that heritage, and that she, her mother and her grandmother were in the process of re-inventing the history of this family. Mai is in the middle of editing this film, which promises to be full of hundreds of emotions, and I can't wait to cry and laugh at it. The Rivers !

And what's more, for this rather special shoot, it's the beautiful and talented Julie Perrot who shot these images! Julie has been making our sewing videos for a while now, but I know her because she's been working with Mai for almost 2 years! Julie is currently expecting her first baby, so I think she came full circle that day too. It was great to be together for a few hours... All so inspiring!

Hugs and kisses to you all, and don't forget to spend some time with your moms this weekend! (Martine je t'aime!)
