No, no, you're not dreaming...

I'm still having trouble realizing it too! It's the continuation of the Wear Lemonade dream that's coming true, fine-tuning this lemony wardrobe. A few months ago, the team at French shoe manufacturer Jonak contacted me with the idea of designing a capsule collection for this winter. After 1/4 of a second's thought, I said yes, yes and yes again! In fact, I'd had something very specific in mind for a long time. It's every shoe enthusiast's dream to design the shoes of their dreams... I wasn't supposed to tell you about this collaboration today, but only when the collection was released at the end of October/beginning of November. But then... The preparation is so exciting, the drawings, the choice of materials, the fittings, and soon the visit to the factory, the look book, and the whole adventure is so great, that I wanted to share every step of this collection with you, right now... Can't wait? Not at all (!).

When I was a little girl, I didn't like shoes. I vaguely remember a pair of red patent ballerinas, but that's it... It was a chore to go shoe shopping, an ordeal even. My mother had found the solution: she always bought me the same pair of black or brown leather ankle boots (madness) with U-shaped elastic straps on the sides. And in summer, it was black sandals, with a wide band across the toes and a Velcro strap around the ankle, period. I also had to have a pair or two of ballet flats or babies, just to match my smocked dress and please my grandmother... And then adolescence arrived, and the love of shoes began to show its face. In fact, my all-consuming passion for shoes began with my arrival in Paris almost 10 years ago, and the point of no return was reached when I got my first job at Yves Saint-Laurent. I'm in love with shoes, all my shoes... In my shoesque life, I practice polyamory, I fall in love at first sight regularly. Too regular.

But most of the time, I'm a thoughtful lover. I fall for beautiful shoes, but not expensive ones. I don't want to feel guilty or self-flagellate for damaging my foot jewels. Yes, I have some incredible pairs that I rarely wear, I have 2 to tell you the truth. Just opening their boxes and looking at them can make me happy, a bit like a collector's item. All this to say that when Jonak contacted me, I thought they were the right "crime partners" for shoes because, in my opinion, they have a real culture of well-made products and they're hyper-attached to the sacrosanct quality/price ratio. And I thought it fitted in well with our Wear Lemonade ethos, which is to offer European manufacturing at fair prices.

For this collection, I wanted to design the 7 essential pairs of shoes you should have in your shoes. From pumps to heeled ankle boots, not forgetting a pair of ballerinas with a small heel to keep your back from hurting... All in different colors, a crazy version and a wiser one... And all to match the next Wear Lemonade collection! It's going to be crazy!
And you tell me, what's your must-have pair in your closet?

I give you a big kiss!
