A MURSE AT FASHION WEEK part 2

So I guess I slightly overestimated myself in terms of how long it would take me to finish this article! I'm delighted to bring you this second and penultimate part of my journey with Gemey - MaybellineYes, the last post will be a short video, but I think it's good to show you the city in motion, the madness of the backstage etc...

Some time ago, I also experienced sleepless nights before fashion shows. When I worked in the Men's Studio at Yves Saint Laurent, even though it's hard, even though it's exhausting, it's in those moments that you get the feeling of being part of a whole, of a team, of a little piece of a house's shared history. I have magical memories of the off-side of fashion shows, of stylists and DAs making and remaking looks as if they were saving the world, passionate, on the phone right up to the last moment... And what satisfaction when the models come back into the booth and it's all over...

It was my first fashion show and backstage as a "guest", and I wanted to ask if there was anything I could do to help... ahaha no, I'm exaggerating. I was just there to enjoy the spectacle of little hands dancing, running and dealing with last-minute micro-disasters... that was really something...  

And I'd promised you the secret of street style... So I'll tell you, for me, street style photographers were like hunters, always with the camera fixed on the eye, on the lookout for the incredible silhouette that would stand out in a crowd... a colorful look, an incredible hat, an accumulation of necklaces... And then, as I waited for the Diane Von Furstenberg show to start, what a surprise... Hordes of overdressed chicks emerging from cabs, made-up and babied to death, who, upon arriving at the show gates, literally struck a pose, waiting for a camera to lay eyes on them. Incredibly, there were those who acted as if nothing had happened, giving themselves a sense of composure by saying "I'm on the phone", and those who took it all in their stride, striking a string of Vogue poses... A miraculous catch? No, there's angling for everyone...

This trip was an opportunity to meet a great girl, Hana Mey, a "blogger" who has just set up an online magazine, canon HEARTY, which I warmly recommend... Hana showed us around her very own New York, or more precisely her favorite Soho/Nolita/East village, and I'd like to share with you a few of her favorite addresses...
