Hello my darlings! Thanks for all the suggestions yesterday for upcoming collections. It’s really helpful to hear your ideas, I’m pretty happy to see that we share the same ideas and that some nice surprises are coming up! We’ve got some great things in store for the next collections, especially some amazing photo shoots! I already told you, but we did the photoshoot a few days ago for the next collection, available early July. I can’t wait to tell you about it, to show you all the little details that we’ve added to the orders! I even think that I’ll write an article on the whole packaging experience! Even after a year, we’re still overjoyed to come up with themes, design clothes and see the collection become a reality over a matter of weeks. I can’t even begin to tell you how proud we are to cross paths with people wearing Wear Lemonade in the streets. I like to try to sneak a picture, don’t think I’m crazy! Falbala is the last piece in ‘Les Baigneuses’ (The Bathers) collection, I’m trilled to share this DIY!
Making Falbala is ‘easypeasy’. It’s the perfect model for beginners and it easily goes with all your summer outfits. I can’t wait to see yours, I’ve been dreaming of making Falbala with crazy motifs and embroidery! You can find examples on our Community page and get inspired! By the way, the other day we were wondering what you wanted to see on the Wear Lemonade Instagram account. A lot of you follow us and it seems like you really like our behind the scenes posts, but if you want to see something else, we’re all ears!

Here are a few things to know about Falbala :
  • To make it, you’ll need 1,40m of fabric from a bolt 1m45 wide or 2,20m of fabric from a bolt 1m10 wide
  • 1m of bias to make the neckline, if you don’t want to deal with making it out of your fabric
  • The paper pattern that you can find here or download the PDF with the 3, 6, or 12 month subscription, here. (We’ve been working out the kinks every day, I promise it’s moving right along! Oh, and subscribers will soon get their first gifts this summer!)
As I was saying, this pattern is really easy for pros, you can make it more complicated by adding extra details (bias, a handkerchief hem, adding braiding, etc...). Laure recommends using a flowy fabric that won’t wrinkle: like cotton poplin, a silk/cotton mix, silk veil, viscose, lace, embroidery or even jersey for those that are feeling daring...
wear-lemonade-falbala-DIY-3 I hope that you’ll like it, I also wanted to thank you for the positive feedback on Falbala’s three versions. Several sizes are already out of stock! I hope you have a wonderful week and that summer’s around the corner! Hugs and kisses! From the Lemonade Studio with love! Translated by Whitney Bolin[:]
