Early this year, we hired a logistics specialist. This is a company that ships for other companies and also may handle their inventory. Letting our products go to the south of France was a big step for me. We’ve considered it for a while now, since there are more and more orders every day, too many for the Lemonade Studio to handle. The time we spent getting the packages ready was time we weren’t spending of making new things. Hello my darlings! To start off, download and print the pattern for the ice cream, put together the different pages using the junction lines that overlap. Now cutout the different parts of your ice cream and start to trace them on the paper. Once you’ve traced everything, cut out the different colors and glue them on top of each other. Do the same for the cone! As you can see, we put two different versions of the cone online for you (the waffle cone will take a little longer to cut out). If you want to do the striped version, you just need to cut out strips of paper 3 cm wide and place them diagonally. Once your paper ice cream is put together, grab your best box cutter and trace the outline! (Ta­Da #1!) Let’s move on to the neon light! The flexible fluorescent can be cut every 4 cm (as show by a little scissor mark). Using the box cutter, make a cut along the neon light so you can take out the two power cords. Twist the wires around each other so that they aren’t pointed every which way and start to place the neon light on the ice cream. While doing this, you can estimate how long you’ll need it to be and cut off the extra neon. We chose to do the top of the ice cream using blue neon, that’s why we started the light there, so that it would line up with the cone. Using your punch, make a hole in the foamcore cardboard on each side of the neon tube! Slide a tie wrap in the holes. Continue winding the light along your ice cream, keeping it in place using the tie wraps on the back of the cardboard. Put them in strategic spots: along the curves. Ta­da #2! Let’s move on to the meeting of the cone, unwrap the neon wires as shown before and roll the wires of the two neons together to make contact. Twist them between each other (be careful to correctly put the neons in the same direction so that the + terminal is with the second light’s + terminal). Once the wires are connected, hold it together with electrician’s tape, or Gaffer tape! Continue lining the light all along the waffle cone. As for the ends, unwrap the wires so you can attach the power cord, slide on the connector jack (there’s also a +/­, if it doesn’t work one way, reverse the wires)! Slide on the power cord and Ta­Da!   First, make balls of ice cream ahead of time because it’s very very important that they’re extremely cold when you’re putting it all together, especially since it’s been so hot out! I recommend making balls of ice cream with a scoop and then putting them in a muffin pan so that they don’t mix and to let them chill in the freezer for a few hours or the night before! Making mochis is serious business, I wouldn’t want you to be disappointed... since the ice cream is now scooped and cold, we’ll move onto the super simple rice dough. In a large, microwave­safe bowl, mix the rice flour, sugar and orange blossom water with a whisk. The mix should become liquidy without any lumps. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and put in the microwave for one minute on maximum power. Using a wet spatula, mix until rubbery. Recover with plastic wrap and put back into the microwave for another minute. Be careful not to burn yourself when taking it out, it should be done: it should be sticky and there shouldn’t be anymore liquid. If there is, put it back in the microwave for 30 more minutes, don’t forget to mix it before hand. [:]

We made the paper balls thanks to CCfaitdessiennes’s DIY. If you need more details, go ahead and check it out, it’s really good! To start, mark the top and bottom of your sheet of paper (lengthwise) every 3cm. Using the back of your scalpel, lightly trace over the marks so that folding with be easier later on. Trace 20 lines. At both ends of your paper, mark a guide at 10cm. Now trace the diagonals using the scalpel. To do this, start on your guide and trace a line until the angle of the second line. Continue doing this, connecting the angle from line 0 to the bottom of line 4. Do the same all over the paper, finishing by joining the angle of line 18 and your second mark at 10cm. Do the same in the other direction so that the diagonals cross. Be careful to make precise marks so that the end product is neat! Turn the sheet over so that the marked side is facing the table and fold the vertical bands (be sure to have clean hands). Turn the paper around again so that the marked side is facing up and now fold the diagonals. Your future scoop of ice cream should start to take a beehive shape! Use your ruler to lightly trace a line from the top to the bottom of your strip of paper, lengthwise, at 1cm.   Use the smallest diameter on the punch to poke holes in the center of the two sides of the little triangle that’s formed by the folds you’ve made. Keep doing this all down the length of your paper. Once you’ve made your first line of holes, fold one of your diagonals and poke holes in the exact spots of your first line of holes. TA­DA, let’s move onto the best part: putting it together. You’ll see that thanks to the folds, your ball will take form all by itself. But to help with the process, glue the two sides of one of the extremities as shown on the pattern to the other side of your strip. Using needle and thread, weave it through the holes. Now pull on the thread to tighten everything up and make several knots to keep the scoop of ice cream together And there you have it! Repeat as many times as you want to make as many scoops of ice cream needed! For the ice cream cone, cut out a half circle 40cm in diameter or print the pattern! Roll it around itself and glue in place. Using the drill, make 6 holes in the wooden rod! We recommend making a long needle out of wire to weave the hanging through all the pieces. Thread the hanging wire through the cone, you can also thread a wooden bead too to nicely finish off the end of the cone. Do the same with the scoop of ice cream. [:]

But I don’t want to be known as an expensive designer brand so it’s complicated... I wanted to offer fashion and an experience at a fair price, for you and the people working for Wear Lemonade, and for us. [:]

  For this DIY, you’ll need:

• Foamboard,
• Patterns to download here and here (the second file must be printed on A3 paper)
• A good scalpel
• Sewing pins
• Spray adhesive
• Erasable pen
• Glue from a green tube
• A pair of scissors
• Fabric, this one here is our poplin dots
• Colored paper

To start, cut out all the pieces of foamboard (be sure that the scalpel blade is perpendicular to the foamboard for a clean cut) and also cut out the paper. Trace the pattern on the fabric using the erasable pen (leave two extra centimeters to make gluing easier). Cut out your fabric and iron it to erase all pen marks (works like magic!) but be careful to keep the pattern’s angle guide marks. Now, let’s start putting together the box’s central compartment, take a look at the schema! To keep the box together, use the sewing pins that you’ll stick in the edge of the foamboard. Pin one in about every 4cm. Voila, now you have the center of your box! Dot glue on the back. Put your paper square on the back to cover it up. We’re now going to move on to the dividers! Hold the two inner dividers in place with the help of the half slots! Slide your dividers into the box and put the divider without slots on the side of the two others! Pin in place. Now your main compartment is ready! Let’s move on to the two little flaps! Pin as shown on the schema. The round part should line up with the sides of the two rectangles. TA­DA number 1! Now, using scissors, notch all the angles around the rounded parts up to the guide marks. Once you’ve made all your notches (there should be 8), fold the seam allowance with an iron on the two sides of your box. Using the adhesive spray, glue the back of your box to the fabric using the folded seam allowance as a guide. Glue the shortest part of the flap on the fabric using adhesive spray, you should have about 0,5 cm of fabric between the folds and the central piece of foam board, this way you can easily close your box. Now, cut off the extra fabric that makes up the two right angles on each side of the fold. Put adhesive spray on the side and glue your fabric, leaving the extra hanging off. Using the glue in the green tube, paste the little fabric fold! Now cut off the extra fabric covering the rest of the flap leaving a centimeter free. Put glue on this value. Fold the fabric again on the value to glue in place, do the same on the other side. Lastly, glue the fabric using adhesive spray and finish up by gluing the extra on top with glue in a green bottle. For the rounded part, put glue on all of it and fold your fabric again, it will naturally fold nicely on the curve! Last step: fold your pieces of paper! Glue all the sides and put it on the flaps! Glue the paper in place. Most important of all, press in the angle to make sure that it’s in the ridge! And Ta­Da, all you have left to do is fill up your wonderful box! [:]
