HELLO FALBALA
Hello my little cats,
Today is the launch of the Falbala blouse, the latest piece in the "Les Baigneuses" collection. Falbala is a blouse I'm obsessed with. For a long time, I've been looking for the perfect ruffled blouse. One that wasn't too frilly so as not to look like a flamenco dancer, or the icing on a cupcake... But the blouses that could have made the joke were often too tight, and I like to feel free in my clothes, so no... So naturally, I thought that since you're never better served than by yourself, I'd design my fantasy blouse. I wanted a blouse that was feminine, but in which I could also feel comfortable all day, without wanting to take it off after lunch, if you know what I mean...
Falbala blouses are made from fluid, unbrittle fabrics that won't wrinkle if you decide to swap your high-waisted jeans for your pencil skirt along the way. Available in three versions:
- in cream plumetis like Chiara's fabric, if you've already adopted it, you'll be familiar with its velvety texture.
- at poplin with the Bathers pattern by the brilliant Charlotte Molas.
- and in poppy red cotton and silk because I definitely couldn't stop and choose just one fabric.
There's no fear of transparency, because all the blouses are lined, which gives them a lovely fall and obviously more hold - what more could you ask for?
If I'd listened to myself, Falbala would have had three or four rows of ruffles, but I'm lucky enough to work with Laure, who was able to stop me in time. But if you want to make it tomorrow with the pattern, you're free to add ruffles. Once again, I'm delighted to present Falbala, with its trapeze cut and slight décolleté in the back, which I'm sure will become a summer friend.
As I was saying, I'm still having trouble - well, "trouble" no, let's say I'm having more difficulty - deciding on the fabrics from which the garments in the collection will be made. You had the perfect example of Chiara's five colors, but Chiara was a different story as all versions seemed to find happy owners. I'm thinking that more and more often I should ask you for your opinion, because after all, these collections are for you. By the way, what kind of pieces would you like to see in these next collections? I can't wait to show you the back-to-school collection, which is just around the corner. Tomorrow the Falbala blouse pattern will be released. If you're a PDF subscriber, you'll find the Falbala pattern next to your other patterns. And I've got good news for beginners: Falbala is at a very easy level, and for those with an advanced level, Falbala will be your minute blouse that you can make expressly just before going out, but I'll tell you about that tomorrow.
Kisses and I look forward to reading your ideas!
