JONAK X WEAR LEMONADE III
Photo Pauline Darleymodel Pierrot rose.
Hello my little cats!
I'm coming to you on this Monday morning to tell you more about the collaboration with Jonak which was launched last Friday! So we're sticking to pink at the moment, mind you, it's not a bad thing to have a bit of softness in this ambient greyness... I've talked to you mostly about the collection on instagram revealing the 7 models in the collection for a week, and what an incredible response! It even makes us want to make our own shoes! Thank you for your words, for your photos, I love discovering your images on social networks with your new babies, don't forget the #jonakxwearlemonade to share your photos so we can see them all at once! Jonak whispered to me this morning that the collection would be restocked on their e-shop within the week, and that there were still sizes and colors left at Galeries Lafayette in Paris, I'm just saying...
I promised you a behind-the-scenes look at the collection, and here it is! I was able to go to Portugal, follow the assembly of the final prototypes, and it was a magical experience. It's not the first time I've been to a shoe factory, but it's always a unique and magical event for me. When I'm in little mouse mode with my camera around my neck, there's always a moment when I feel like I'm exactly where I'm supposed to be. I'm delighted to see the things I've imagined come to life, and I even find it moving to see my ideas come to life...
It was a very short day in Porto, but I had to observe and absorb everything I could to try and pass it on to you as faithfully as possible. We went to the Jonak factory with Marie, the brand's creative director, like two children! I think factory visits are so cool, the workers there are so eager to share their knowledge, and so keen to show the best of what they can do. They're often moments that are a little out of time and surreal. On this particular day, I was following a little model-maker who didn't speak English, and I still don't speak Portuguese, so we communicated with smiles and mimes, and the icing on the cake was that he was a carbon copy of the grandfather in the film "Là-haut", which didn't take anything away from our communication problems, but made him even more likeable!
It really made me want to make making-of videos more often, and especially for us, Wear Lemonadeto visit our own factories, tell you all about the backstageOkay, I'm lying a little because I also love imagining photo shoots, but as you can see, I think I'm completely in love with my job...
The photos were taken with Pauline Darleyour very own Pauline! And for each model, we had fun imagining an amorous mood, completely crazy about her pair of shoes... Studious lover with her ballerinas... Ninoballerina flats PierrotFurious in Gino... What's more, in each box of shoes, they've written you a little note! I'll let you discover it in your polka-dot boxes! And with each shoot, I really want to go one step further and try to challenge us! For this session, I asked a dance teacher friend of mine Audrey Roehrich to help us choreograph this photo shoot with Pauline Darley and Nathan Cahen !
