HOW TO SEW FRANCESCA PANTS
Hello everyone!
It's with great regret that I announce: winter is here! But luckily, today we're bringing you the pattern for Francesca, those crazy, wide-legged, high-waisted pants that flatter your curves and hopefully lift your spirits. So if you haven't tried them on in our khaki and caramel velvet versions, I can assure you that these pants are a real jewel of comfort. If I had my way, I'd even make them into a pair of cuddly pyjama bottoms, so you'd never have to leave them... We made these pants with François, who was our intern, and we really wanted them to be very, very flattering. They're perfect for beginners: two little darts to shape the buttocks, easy-to-assemble front pockets, two pleats on each leg for comfort and fit, an original belt with a little V in the back, they can be worn all year round, depending on the fabric you choose. Of course, don't hesitate to play with length by lengthening or shortening it, it can also be worn short, ankles out.
For the video, we made it from men's suit fabric (sourced from Sacré Coupons) and as it has large checks, watch out for the seams on the middle front and middle back! Of course, for winter, we recommend velvet, wool (fluffy or dry), thick jersey, cotton gabardine and denim. For summer, we recommend fine cotton gabardine, thick poplin, satin or crepe (polyester, viscose or silk). I'll leave you with the video, and don't forget that Carlotta and Julietta's videos are also here to help you.
