WEARLEMONADE #16 THE CHIARA DIY DRESS
Hello my little cats!
Thank you a million times over for your words and for the smashing reception of the new collection. I'll say it again, but I've got a crazy team and I'm really proud of us! This launch has never been so exhilarating, and I have the feeling that we've succeeded in offering you the lemony fashion and experience we've had in mind all along. There are still a lot of adjustments to be made, but I think we're getting there, little by little! It's terribly galvanizing to achieve your goals! We can't give up and we're already thinking about the next move, but it's so good to have your encouraging feedback! And to tell you the truth, it's not always easy to grow your small business. We're still a small start-up in the early stages of our history, and we often lack the resources to carry out all our projects. At the moment, we have to make difficult but necessary choices to achieve the quality we want to offer you.
With the launch of the new e-shop and the new collection, it was time to take stock of the Wear Lemonade adventure. It was also an opportunity to reaffirm our desires and the direction we want to take. After a long, stormy and painful reflection on sewing patterns, we decided to give up on PDF patterns in order to concentrate on paper booklets and offer you the most complete sewing experience possible. We've redesigned the packaging to be more robust, created a tab so you don't lose your new labels along the way, and called in a great team: studio ravagesWe also called in a great team, studio ravages, to revise the model, and to top it all off, the graphic designers who took care of us are outstanding seamstresses, and they guided us in making the explanatory booklet as clear and practical as possible. The program includes cutting plans for 1m10 and 1m40 widths, as well as a glossary and shopping list! What's more, for our foreign customers, the patterns will be bilingual, which is another investment for us.
From the outset, our philosophy has been to make sewing a real pleasure, and despite all our efforts to improve our PDF patterns, every day dozens of customers tell us how difficult it is to print the files and match the pattern pages, which is totally at odds with the notion of pleasure we want to associate with sewing. What's more, these downloadable patterns ended up representing a financial and human cost that we could no longer support, given the very low selling price of our PDF patterns, and even more so now that we're translating our patterns into English. So, rather than significantly increase the price of these PDFs, we've chosen to invest in quality for our paper patterns, and with Laure we're committed to developing a new line of free, exclusive PDF patterns for blog readers on a regular basis.
