PAPETERIE DE L'AMOUR AND MISTER M STUDIO
Hello my little cats,
I hope you're well, so I'm coming back to you today with one of my favorite subjects, stationery! I'm a fan of beautiful cards, I have a huge collection of them that I keep religiously at home, and whenever I'm feeling down, I dive into this box and it's like making Pinterest real. It boosts and inspires me, and each time I see these cards differently, I come to draw inspiration from them. So for my wedding, I've been looking forward to it myself!
Some time ago, for the release of Elodie and Anne Solange's book "Dis moi Oui" published by Eyrolles, I met Sarah, their graphic designer and layout artist for the book. And this girl is pure good humor, a real genius ideas machine! And a few months later, I found out that she's the person behind the studio that creates such beautiful announcements, invitations and stamps. Mister M Studio. During the wedding preparations, we met up again and I wanted to ask her about our wedding invitations, but as I talked to her, I realized that I really wanted something extremely precise and I was excited to do it myself. However, the desire to bring our worlds together was so strong that we decided to imagine a complete collection of wedding invitations together.
After a big Pinterest session on a shared board, Sarah launched into the mock-ups for this collection. Sarah loves stripes, and as you know, I'm a sucker for polka dots... We started out on a very graphic track, but in the end I think I wanted something more citrusy, in the image of Make My Lemonade. Sarah quickly developed this chic yellow/black/white imagery, which I love, and I pressed for a more "loose" typeface, a little as if we'd written it with a brush, less polished than a beautiful cursive typography. I find that stationery is a great starting point for your wedding decor, as it sets the tone for the overall ambiance. So now's the time to browse Sarah's site, find your future wedding theme and order your Save the Date!
The "Frida & Pierrot" collection I've just presented to you will soon be online on Sarah's website: Mister M Studio and you'll be able to see it in real life at the alternative wedding festival "Andy" on November 7!
As for me, I can't resist showing you the cards I made for our wedding... On the theme of the moon and blue! I've been feeling very cosmic lately, as you'll see, and I didn't want to do something too girly, as there are two of us getting married, and even though I know Thomas trusted me, I still wanted him to be involved in the invitation design.
In each kraft envelope, we slipped a small handful of silver glitter, just to add a little magic to our guests' daily lives, who were delighted (and their building neighbors too)... It was a little hint for my outfit, glitter dress dust...
And then, we had iron-on embroidered patches made as dragées, which we put in paper berlingots. We had the patches made on this Belgian websitegreat quality and very fast, I recommend them!
The letter consisted of a main invitation for the town hall and the secular ceremony/party, a ticket to the moon with a map to the ceremony venue, and a little box for the dress code and lots of sequins! All printing was done at Magenta Colorthe best in Paris for me.
And then Sarah, sweet Sarah, offered me this stamp, and on her site you can have your own made! I hope you've enjoyed it, and I'll see you tomorrow for more adventures!
