BEST OF: BEST DIY CHRISTMAS GIFTS
My dear otters,
It's that time of year again: Christmas is approaching and, like every year, you're going to find yourself a few days early, wandering around the crowded shopping mall, haggard-eyed, heart pounding, with your sweater too warm... Only to end up with a present for yourself, drinking hot chocolate in a café "to reward yourself for having endured this terrible ordeal".
Those days are over, or at least the Lemonade Team is determined to stop you having to endure them. In fact, today I'm bringing you a Best-of of our DIYs that would be perfect for a Christmas gift, for young and old, men and women, otters and chicks. The countdown is officially on, you've got 24 days left to work on it and have the pleasure of looking at your friends with disdain when they ask you for gift advice on the evening of the 23rd. And I'm not even talking about the pride you'll feel when you see your friends and family marvelling at the "I did it! For those of you who've already done all these DIYs (if you have, you're crazy!) don't worry, we've put together a whole host of new ideas for you over the next few days.
Let's start with the DIY Mexican Legs which will embellish any lace-up shoe, simple and effective, just make sure the person you're giving it to has the right style (if she already has a fringed perfectogo for it!)
You can also choose the DIY To The Moon And BackIf you can't offer a trip to the other side of the world, offer a one-way ticket to the moon.
Ah the DIY Sailor's Baga classic that never goes out of fashion. And a little birdie tells me that our male friends would also be delighted by this gift (and yes, we've thought of everything).
And since we also have an unconditional love for the young ones, we recommend the DIY MuppetIt's sure to keep them entertained on those long, rainy afternoons. This time you won't have the excuse of being allergic to cats to convince us not to adopt him.
A few days ago, we brought you the DIY Paris Est Une Fête which was doing us all a world of good during these dark times. We originally thought of it as a beautiful Christmas gift, but it's up to you to reinterpret the landscape.
I remember you all fighting it out for the chance to win the DIY Milk BagIt's high time, more than a year later, that you finally decided to make one. It'll be a good reason to watch lots of films in the warmth, and you can always give it to yourself.
The DIY Semainier Headband is simple, and you don't get one gift, you get seven! Special dedication to those on a tight budget and to seamstresses who wouldn't know what to do with their fabric scraps.
Admittedly, it's new, but I think you'll like it. DIY Break In Case is clearly the best value this Christmas, as it can be adapted to any situation and any person: I'm personally thinking of creating a "Break in case of hunger" with a box full of potato chips.
A small bag, a sewing kit, a purse, anything becomes possible with the DIY Pochette Chat ! Yes, I know, this article is starting to take on a teleshopping feel, so I'm going to pull myself together!
The DIY Dino Disco is probably the quickest and simplest of all: a dinosaur, glue, glitter and off you go! And to save you a long, hard negotiation with your little cousin, you'll find here the perfect dinosaurs.
A DIY for the more patient among us: the DIY Embroidered Shirt(Did I ever tell you we had contests for the most improbable expressions at Lemonade Studio?) A word of advice: arm yourself with your best magnifying glasses.
And because you know our love of sequins, disco balls and other shiny wonders, I had to finish with DIY Pimp my Socks ! You'll have a good reason to explain to your other half why you're wearing socks with sandals in the middle of winter.
Give my otters a big kiss, and don't forget to send us photos of your creations at [email protected]!
