BOLLYWOOLAND
Hello my little cats!
I hope you're well, for my part I have the feeling that I've never been so far from home, we're as far as you can go from Paris, at the very bottom of New Zealand's South Island. It's magnificent - I feel I've never seen such beautiful scenery in my life, but I'll tell you about that later...
Being so far away on the train and looking at these crazy photos again, I realize that the Indian inspiration is far away, there's a bit of 70's borrowing, a bit of sportswear too and a lot of color codes mixed in. It's a sort of Indian series on LSD that's been hanging around Decathlon too much... Yes, let's put it that way. I really enjoyed working on this series, trying on dozens and dozens of garments like a colorful textile explosion in the office. I think what I liked most in retrospect was the way it clicked. Like a need to reconnect with my body and my clothes, I wanted to be a bit daring too.
I don't know if it's life that sometimes overwhelms me, between the studio, Make My Lemonade and Wear Lemonade, but I have the feeling that over the last few months, I wasn't making any effort. for happy friday. A few basics from my wardrobe were looping around me like a worn-out record, with my favorite being loose-fitting sweatshirt dresses, and I had no idea what was underneath, namely my waist, my hips, my thighs... And with the happiness brought to me by this shoot with the delicious Pauline DarleyI took undisguised pleasure in concocting these extreme looks, and it made me want to reclaim my closet.
I don't think I have a signature look, apart from the occasional bun and compulsive polka dots... But I love so many different eras and cultures that it would be a shame to limit myself to one uniform. And then when I look at pictures of myself 10 years ago when I first arrived in Paris and today (apart from my hair tribulations) I don't feel that I've locked myself into one style at any given time, I have the feeling that I've tamed some of my inspirations, there are of course silhouettes that come back but it's kind of funny to see that time goes by and I'm still looking! All this to say that I've had the feeling that I've switched off over the last few months, and I want to keep on conquering these as yet unknown silhouettes, to have fun wearing my clothes again, to wear what I design more often too, to make myself smile in the mirror. I feel as though writing these words here is like a promise I'm making to myself, with you as my witness...
I hope you enjoy this series, as I was lucky enough to make these images with Pauline as I was saying, my Fred took care of my untrimmed hair, and I worked with the talented Laurence Maestrellowhom you met at the last open house! Thanks to them and Olitax for his invaluable help!
