MES AMIS LES SEQUINS

Happy Sunday, little butter hearts,

Today's DIY is super easy, but has a great effect, and something quite rare: I literally want to do this DIY on all my sad sweatshirts, to give them a second wind...

When I say "great effect", it's because I've worn it several times and each time, it leaves no one indifferent. I've even had a "Waouh (optional), who's that, who's making that crazy sweater?" Yes, yes, totally, according to my hard-to-impress guy.

This DIY is taken from the first Workshop with ASOSIt was a great success, and I loved seeing the girls amazed at how easy it was to embroider... A bit like when you take the little wheels off your bike... Now you're embroidering!

So, yes, this week you've had 2 DIYs... Well, I've got good news for you: next week you'll have two too... One of them, shall we say, a stronger one, the new creation from the lemonade studio (in all simplicity). Chestnuts, it's time to get your ten fingers in gear to make your Christmas presents...

For this DIY:

-Cost approx. 10 euros (materials excl. sweat)

-Time approx. 1 hour or even 2 hours if you're not very concentrated...

-Difficulty "no need to be an expert"...

For this DIY, you need :

• -a sweater, in this case a Asos in neoprene, the material is great and the neckline sexy (a plus not to be underestimated on a sweater)...
• - large sequins with an off-center hole on the hem,
• - small, classic sequins with a hole in the middle,
• - seed beads,
• - thread to match the sweater, a fine needle and a pair of scissors.

Take all your large sequins, and fold them in half, with the fold over the hole in them. So far so good... Feel free to choose at least 3 colors. Here I've chosen black, white and silver, but have fun mixing unlikely colors on a gray or black sweater...

Then place your sequins on the sweater, at the neckline, like a sort of integrated necklace. To help you remember where to place your sequins, and if you ever want to give them a particular design, take a quick photo with your phone.

Thread the thread through the fine needle, make a knot at the end of the thread, stitch on the reverse side of the sweater towards the outside, starting from one side and working towards the other shoulder. Then start threading the needle through the hole in your first sequin, and re-stitch at the point where you brought out your thread.

Continue in the same way, and don't hesitate to embroider the sequins close together, to give them that "couture" effect we're looking for. Next, embroider a few small sequins. It's very simple: choose the spots, stitch the thread and needle outwards, thread the small sequin, a seed bead, and then iron through the hole in the small sequin, right where you threaded out.

Don't hesitate to add small sequins all over the place, and a little off-center from your collar, as if a necklace had broken and spilled its pearls all over the place. I'm just being metaphorical on this Sunday...

To finish your embroidery, of course, you'll tie bows, preferably double ones. And don't wait until you're out of length to tie your bows! And TA-DA! Have fun!
