HOW TO SEW A THELMA CAPE?

Hello birds!

That's right, how do you sew a Thelma cape? Well, Thelma has been available on the internets for a while now, for 15 days to be exact. We previewed it at the Création et Savoir Faire trade show, and to tell you the truth, we were more than certain that the Dita dress would be the show's most memorable pattern, but no, to our general surprise, it was Thelma. So it was a complete sell-out. Okay, I love being surprised!

So you know a little about my hectic life, and because I'm doing 100 things at once, I forgot to click on "upload the video" of Thelma at youtube... So I wanted to apologize profusely for this oversight and post the video of this cape! I'm sure that Thelma will make a great gift under the tree, and you can go ahead with your eyes closed, it's very easy to make and adapt to your desires, with or without collar, with or without lining, and for the more adventurous you can also add a hood of your choice. In short, as always, the watchword is: let loose, have fun!

I love the retro cut and the line of the back makes me feel like the heroine of a novel set in the 30s and 40s. And the funny thing is that we originally imagined Thelma with a hood. But when we received the prototype, we thought it looked too childish, so we asked for a round collar, but our fashion designers decided on a "claudine" collar. After a lot of to-ing and fro-ing, we decided to change it to a stand-up collar, which adds a touch of retro to the ensemble. And since we realized at the pop-up store that the cape's big pockets were driving you crazy, Laure worked miracles to transpose those handy big pockets onto the paper pattern, while adding a lining.

(Yes, I say wow effect in the video... I know... )

What you need to know about Thelma :

• Thelma is SINGLE SIZE, you'll need 3m of fabric in one width. of 1m40 and 3m of lining in a width of 1m40.
• I advise you to choose a fluffy wool, which will be easier to work with than a dry wool. Don't hesitate to choose a synthetic blend - you can find some great wool/polyester qualities.
• Seam allowances are always one centimeter, as on all our patterns!
• You'll need buttons or snaps, or whatever you like, to close the cape!
• You can use a little iron-on for the collar if you need to.

For the videos, I made mine with our lipstick fabric and it's so beautiful, you should have heard Julie, the tutorial director, say: "Han mais c'est trop bien" every 3 minutes and Laure reply in echo: "Je n'étais pas sûr mais c'est canon". In short, I think you'll like it!

The other big news is that next year's new collection is arriving soon (end of January) with lots of surprises and new patterns.
