HOW TO SEW A GRETA DRESS?
I hope you're having a lovely week, as gentle as possible given the political context... But to take your mind off things, I've got two big pieces of news! The first, if you missed it on social networks, is that we're opening our pop-up store at 132 rue de Turenne from May 3 to 28, 2017 in the 3rd arrondissement of Paris! Hysteria in the office, I'm feverish, it's in 10 days and there's still so much to do! Anyway, I can't wait to see you, and to open the workshop ticket office for this Wednesday if all goes well! If you want some fresh news, I suggest you follow us on Instagram on our two accounts @Makemylemonade and @WearLemonade There's a lot going on right now... I've got a lot going on in my little head about the content of Make My Lemonade, but I'll tell you all about it in due course, but it's all coming together! But it's moving fast in my little brain...
And the second big piece of news is that she's here, the beauty! Greta ! Online in orbit to start the week off right! Greta is clearly a dress inspired by the film "In the mood for love". A vintage garment that doesn't smell of mothballs... Like the great Greta Garbo, you'll have a mysterious "je ne sais quoi"... This dress will bring you lightness and practicality with its large pockets in the side seams, to slip all your life into before going out! The tight, gathered waist will make your silhouette look deliciously comfortable, and we love that it adapts to all waist sizes. You can also add the belt to hide the elastic! The sleeves are ideal for wearing this dress to the city or to work, with the gathered sleeve head, hyper-practical also for avoiding crises because of the embus. For the finishing touch, the stand-up collar, button placket and bow will highlight your neck and give you a little stewardess edge! Put your hair up and head for the office with your nose to the wind!
For Greta, choose a fabric that's preferably fluid for summer. We recommend a viscose poplin, a crepe (synthetic or natural, depending on what's in your closet), a silk or muslin that you can double up. For the winter version, I think a velvet panne or a fine wool suit would look great. If you're brave, you can make it in cotton jersey, broderie anglaise or even lace! You'll also need 3 small buttons (or more) for the placket. For the elastic, choose either 5mm or 75mm. To find out its length, measure your waist and subtract 1/4 (if your waist is 80cm, use an elastic cut to 60cm). You'll find the technique in the video!
What you'll need on this Greta dress:
- 2.80m of fabric for a width of 1.40m or
- 2.90m of fabric for a width of 1.10m
- 3 buttons for button placket
- 1m elastic 0.75 cm or 1cm wide for waistband.
- and a little bit of concentration!

A big kiss and see you soon!
