A lot of you ask me what inspires me... Well, I always say: it's pretty much everything, but when I'm completely dry I hop on my bike and head off to the cinema or a museum. In fact, I'd like to lose myself there a bit more often. I remember there was a time when it depressed me a lot when I saw monumental and brilliant things, it made me feel weird, I felt useless and then I told myself that everything had already been done anyway and that in a creative world it would be difficult to exist. All things considered, I'm not comparing my work with that of Caravaggio... But as the years went by, my self-confidence slowly grew, and going to galleries and exhibitions always whets my creative appetite. Inspiration doesn't mean copying, but observing the work of others, which can help me bounce back on a texture, a material - in short, I'm not going to draw you a picture...

So today I wanted to talk to you about the exhibition that's currently on show at the Grand Palais for a few days. I hesitated to tell you about it, because I'd read and heard that the exhibition wasn't unanimously approved, that its only reason for being was to echo last year's Chanel little black jacket exhibition... That some of the works had already been used in previous exhibitions, in short... I asked myself this question, but for me, this exhibition did me good, it was a nice interlude in a gray and rainy week (that day was downright apocalyptic), I saw some friends there, I wandered around a wing of the Grand Palais that I didn't know, or from memory not in that configuration. The set-up and the scenography were impeccable, and I'm very sensitive to that: a video projector that projects larger than the screen, or a lamp that's badly aimed, can spoil my pleasure.... Of course, we were at Dior, so I didn't come across this kind of clumsiness. But I did find the whole thing well put together, and I discovered an all-female exhibition (with a particular fondness for Carla Mattii), I rediscovered emblematic pieces of the house, such as the Miss Dior dress by Monsieur Christan Dior, and Raf Simons' reinterpretation of the Miss Dior dress. But I also saw part of Christian Dior's private collection, works by his artist friends Buffet, Chagall, Picasso, simple, normal friends...

Seeing this exhibition unblocked a few projects that had been on hold until then. And for those reasons alone, I thought I had to tell you about it. So today we're putting on our biggest coat and doing our brains some good by going to the Grand Palais. And we're doing it fast, because it's free and the exhibition is on in Paris until the 25th. Go to the website for more info! And if you're strong enough to brave the crowds, run next door to see Paris PhotoI haven't seen it yet, but I've heard great things about it. Kisses to you all, and I think this little column will be a regular feature around here...
