MAKE MY FASHION WEEK DAY2
Second day in New York with Gemey Maybelline, what a madness! Two shows, two backstages, beauty, smiles, unlikely encounters, a look to face the city and a hotel! I'll tell you all about it...
So day two, I woke up at the crack of dawn to run to the Tommy Hilfiger show. As much as the DVF show was fairly relaxed, the make-up artists and hairdressers were easy to get to, and the atmosphere was electric but very similar to what I'd experienced in Paris. But for the Tommy show, it was a different story. It was set to the millimeter, there were at least three people for one model, it was swarming in all directions, in a sort of controlled excitement, very American in the end. As for the show itself, it was astonishing, refreshing and unexpected.
The designer's silhouette was chic yet very sporty and colorful, with neoprene and leather pantsuits that were deliriously reminiscent of California, with the beach boys playing in the background. I like to imagine the Tommy Hilfiger woman surfing for 2 hours before going to the office, without having to go home. I fell in love with the accessories made of colored silicone threads, a bit like surfboard leashes braided together (DIY?). But I also had a crush on the mirrored sunglasses. I haven't yet taken the plunge and worn them, but I have to admit that seeing the ones in the show made me want to.
I'm wearing an adorable jacket and boots Sézane which you will soon be able to buy on the site, a pair of jeans Gapand a dingo necklace Sonia Rykiel.
Then in the afternoon, the Philipp Lim backstage, where I came face to face with the designer Avril Loufrani who works with him, and who also happens to be a Duperré alum! It's too small a world... I really loved the colors, the mauves of the make-up, the metallics of the clothes... And the impeccable lines of the silhouettes, I urge you to soak up the collection.
Yesterday I read that one of you was frustrated not to be able to see my images in large format... well, you can find them on the Tumblr of Gemey Maybelline, I have so many images I want to share with you! See you tomorrow! And yes I also wanted to share with you the address of my hotel "The Roger Hotel" on Madison avenue, so adorable and cozy, polka dots, stripes, vintage furniture, everything I love I'm under the complete spell ... And a special mention for the gargantuan breakfasts at the restaurant of the latter.
