BASKETS WITH FLOWERS FROM MY HEART
Hello my little cats!
As promised, today I'm telling you about the do it yourself project we did last weekend for the workshop Comptoir des cotonniers ! As usual, we've put together a video report of the event, which will be online at the end of the week, but for now, I'd like to show you this DIY that I adore. I'm a fan of flowers and sneakers, and at first glance, I didn't think they were compatible, but hey, why not, I'm not really cold-hearted? disco shoes and in the meantime I've come across this photo and figured it was the next step...
For the workshop, participants were able to customize their sneakers in tone-on-tone or opposite colors, and then I'd found a crazy little cracked leather at Sacrés Coupons. We had some leather-covered buttons made at Fil 2000 and that was it... I can't stress this enough, but to get the best results from your do-it-yourself projects, don't choose the cheapest materials. The more care you take with the raw materials, the better the final result will look... For my part, I'd like to show you my work with totally black flowers!
And as I know it's frustrating not to live in Paris for workshops, or that places go too quickly, I wanted, with Comptoir des Cotonniers, to offer you 2 pairs of sneakers as well as the materials to make this DIY! What do you think? To participate, simply leave a comment below the article with your shoe size and tell me why you absolutely must have this pair of Slash! The results will be posted in Sunday's article!
Time : 1h
Cost: €20 (excluding shoes, you'll find Slash here)
Difficulty: Easy
For this DIY you need :
- - Fine leather scraps,
- - The flower pattern you will find here,
- - A pair of scissors,
- - A leather needle,
- - Covered buttons (you can have them made at Fil 2000 if you supply the fabric)
- - Cord thread,
- - pen,
- - A thimble.
To begin, print and cut out the pattern for your flowers. Transfer it to the back of the leather with a pen.
Cut out your flower. To achieve the same result as us, you'll need 7 flowers of each pattern.
Now take your sneaker and start by removing the lace. We're going to sew the flowers onto the tongue - the leather isn't very thick, and you've got a die, so don't worry!
Stitch inside the tongue and take out your needle, threading your four flowers one on top of the other, from largest to smallest.
Now grab a button and place it in the center of your flower, stitching two or three times to secure.
Finish with a knot, and move on to the second flower! You'll be finished in no time!
And Ta-Da!
