HAPPY BEE FRIDAY
Happy Friday cats!
I didn't post our "Good people" yesterday because I wanted to change two more things! And I thought it made more sense to end the week with a special guest... I'll add that there'll be some big news at the end of this week! I think you'll be pleased... In any case, at the office we're very excited about the arrival of a new workshop, so I'll say no more for now (Aaaaaah I can't wait).
Today is a special Happy Friday for this themed week. I've prepared not one, but 2 looks with pieces from the latest collection! Which reminds me, I haven't shopped at Wear Lemonade yet myself! So these are the prototypes we shot for the lookbook that I'm wearing today...
And it's about time I made up my mind which pieces I want to get before there's nothing left! I didn't even have time to pick up a Greta dress in navy blue striped... But the good news is that we were able to recommend fabric in Spain, and urgently relaunch production of Greta Rayée and Ada Rayée skirts in Macedonia, in the factory we showed you last year!
I'm wearing the dungarees in Fiona fluid chambray in size M, the body sienne Maya in size S, the Thalullah kimono in size M, an Argument x Chacok sautoir and a pair of sublime Robert Clergerie derbies.
As you know, since January 1 I've made a resolution to stop buying clothes from fast fashion. So yes, I can't really complain because I'm designing my dream wardrobe, but still! As a true lover of finds and clothes, I'm deserting stores and avoiding certain neighborhoods... And when it comes to e-shops, I'm all about "air shopping": I fill up baskets and go... I'm full! I've almost set up a firewall on my browser to avoid certain websites... Yes, I need to take care of myself! But the good thing is that I'm getting back in touch with all the clothes in my closet...
I'm not going to give you the thousandth sermon on the ethics of clothing manufacture, but the older I get, the more it affects me and makes me choose one brand over another. Especially at a time when there's so much on offer, it's hard to know where to turn when faced with increasingly deceptive sourcing and materials.. On the one hand, and for the better, Made in China no longer always rhymes with poor quality and working conditions. Likewise, some polyester-containing materials don't have to be burned after wearing... I once bought a dress convinced it was made of silk, and it was in fact a beautiful polyester! On the other hand, you can sometimes end up with a silk blouse that's good for throwing away, because the fabric can be spun in a snap. The trick to buying online is to look closely at the photos. From experience, beware of synthetic fabric that shines a little on the pictures, it will shine like a thousand lights once received at home! So be careful not to judge too quickly... For my part, provenance is the key to my choices, and I avoid all brands that are opaque about their manufacturing process.
I wear the skirt Ada Sienne skirt in size M, the Bee My Baby" t-shirt t-shirt in M (it's being reprinted too), the kimono Thallula mustard in size M, and a DIY bandana I'll be telling you about soon!
So, what are your tips for buying online? Don't hesitate to share your tips! I'll be doing an article with your tips and ours at Lemonade Studio. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you for your responsiveness to our "survey" newsletter! Thank you for your participation and for your comments, which were scrupulously scrutinized! To be continued!
On a lighter subject, and as you've probably noticed (we can't hide anything from you!) I've got my natural hair back. After 5 months of extensions, I can tell you that my hair has grown and I haven't lost that much. It's always a volume party when I get up in the morning... So I've lightened it up a bit with Fred, but not too much either, as I'm psychologically preparing myself for a new cut... Well, I haven't made any firm decisions, but there's definitely going to be some hair changes! Okay I'm lying, I feel like going short actually (sorry Mum), (sorry Thomas). But until I'm ready and the fine weather arrives, I'm going to leave them alone... When is spring again?
