VINTAGE TABLEWARE

Let's start the week by taking care of the details! Yesterday, I talked about leaving nothing to chance during the preparations for your wedding, because there will be so many things that are out of your control (and that's all to the good), but if you're a bit of a "detail freak" like me, it's still nice to have the feeling that you've thought of everything, to surprise your guests. And to play up the contrast with this ultra-modern house under renovation, I wanted to choose some antique crockery, and what's more, some mismatched... I think I spent many hours on American wedding websitesand I felt that the finishing touch would be crystal and porcelain tableware to complete the poetic atmosphere. Just the right amount of romance to soften the raw space...

In the course of my investigations on the Internet, I discovered the business of Marine and Jérémy, two friends who have embarked on the adventure of entrepreneurship with the concept of renting antique crockery: www.vaissellevintage.comquite simply. It was after Marine's wedding that she came up with the idea of setting up her own business. She had hunted out all the crockery needed for the event in the months leading up to D-day. And once the wedding was over, she wondered what she was going to do with all these lovingly collected items. Resell them? Better! Rent them in kit form, so that as many people as possible can enjoy them. You can rent guest kits with 2 plates, 3 glasses, cutlery, cup and saucer for 3 euros per person as a starting price, and add an option or two for crystal glasses. 

Marine and Jérémy came to the office to present their concept, and for an afternoon we created a festive table using their tableware. I wanted to create a table in bold colors, orange and mauve, with touches of aqua green on some of the plates... All the tableware, including the vases, came from their site, and the tablecloth is a Ikeathe bouquet comes from the magnificent florist Debeaulieu. In the glasses ( because I'm sure you're going to ask me ) it's blackberry syrup from chez IkeaAnd of course, citrus fruits, with large Corsican clementines, whose leaves can of course be used as people-seaters! Big hugs and kisses, and tomorrow I'll be back to talk stationery!
