How happy I am to be able to write to you again! I've had a HUGE problem with my domain name, so I'll skip the technical details, but in the meantime, and because I'm fed up with technical unemployment, the site is available at citron.makemylemonade.com ... the ".com" is still available, but it's down, and everything will be back to normal very soon, so both addresses will be usable as if nothing had happened, very quickly, but I'll keep you posted on that! In the meantime, keep the news flowing, my beloved little chestnuts, you who have supported me so much during this period of website emptiness...
I hope you're well, and that the Pierrot theme inspires you as much as it does me... This morning on my bike, I passed by a florist selling fir trees, which perfumed the whole street, and gave me the courage to drive even faster to my screen to write to you...
Well then, Pierrot, it's true that I've been wanting to do a theme on this character for a very long time, there are things that follow me, and which I must confess I'm a little obsessed with too. I'm not a collector, but if I were, I think I'd have a hell of a time... I really have a big problem with polka dots, but you already know that, croissants I'm crazy about, mouths because they're so beautiful, piano keys, so graphic, lemons by necessity, ice cream cones of course... And then there's the moon and Pierrot. It's like a kind of imagery from which I'm always happy to pick and choose.
So you'll see, I wasn't completely literal in my interpretation of "Pierrot La lune", but I thought about all the things that Pierrot evoked in me... The brainstorming was supposed to go something like this: Pierrot > Black & White > Dominoes > Piano > Dice > Night > Stars > Moon > Collar > Tulle > Fragile > Dove > Swan > Feather > Tassels. So much for fast-forwarding through what may have been going on in my brain.
With all these elements I had to compose... I wanted to imagine a little stationery to invite friends and family to come and celebrate Christmas in Pierrot mode. With a black and white dresscode, which is pretty easy, especially for men... Obviously, strawberries aren't necessarily de rigueur. It's up to you to impose a dresscode, but I find that we rarely have the opportunity to dress well, to dress up. So even if we're making an effort for Christmas, I think it's great to give an indication, because if it's not too specific, it helps, and limits the "I absolutely don't know what to wear" phrases...
For the paper invitation, I recommend you take a look at the do it yourself roses and stop at step 8. Start this folding in a light blue paper, and then glue the various stationery elements to download. HERE. There are 3 sheets and you should find what you're looking for! Between the Dress Code, the RSVP, the Save the Date, feel free to use these templates for Christmas, but you can also imagine invitations for a wedding, a birthday, a costume party... As I like to say: Transpose!
I also give you the template of the envelope/pocket into which you can slip all your little paper items without risking losing half of them along the way... What's more, the typeface used for this stationery is "Aquus", available from MyFonts.com. I'm sure you're dying to know the secret of Pierrot's paper ruffle, but you'll have to wait until Monday for a little DIY...
