HOW TO SEW A DITA DRESS
Hello my little cats!
I think we're going to make some happy people today! Because Dita, as I told you yesterday, it's been a long time since I've been so excited about a Wear Lemonade model! Of course I love all these "A" girls, but Dita has it all! I've said it all over the place, but I've got a feeling this dress won't be leaving me for a long time... It's the first pattern in the new "Kiss Me Forever" collection, and we're going to reach a crescendo in the level of sewing difficulty! So don't panic just yet with Dita, everything's going to be just fine!
First of all, she's a heart stopper, and as soon as I find one, I buy it. It's so rare, I'm starting to build up a nice collection! What's more, it can be worn with the heart crossed over the chest as well as on the back! That's why she's got such a long belt to tie a beautiful bow on both sides. Dita has such batwing sleeves you can see how in love I am! And cherry on top of the banana split, Dita has pockets and a twirling skirt! So that's my minute declaration of love... It's already in all 3 colors in my suitcase for the vacations. I'll let you watch the video, you'll see I'm in Olympic shape!
A few technical facts about Dita :
- to make it, you'll need 3m of fabric if you have a width of 1m45
- 2m of bias tape for the neckline if you want to go a little crazy with a contrasting color,
- For the quality of your fabric, we recommend a viscose, silk, crepe, or even a light, soft poplin - in fact, a very fluid fabric!
- and the paper pattern is available here or in pdf with a 3, 6 or 12-month subscription, here.
