POP UP STORE ACT 2
Happy Wednesday company!!!
Today, I'm here to tell you about a crazy experience, our second pop-up store! For all you non-Parisians out there, here's a guided tour... This is our second pop-up store experience, and it's a real blast - I'm amazed at how we anticipate things and learn so quickly from our past experience! Last October, we opened one at 14 rue du château d'eau for a month, and we repeated the ephemeral experience at 132 rue de Turenne for the whole month of May. And yes, there are only a few days left to come and visit us! But today, I wanted to tell you about the passion that drives me to create a place and imagine a scenography! Yes, I don't hide the fact that my goal is to open a permanent boutique, but I love the idea of moving furniture around and imagining a new universe that would be in perfect harmony with the current collection. So, we'd need space and a system of modular furniture, to have a new scenography according to the seasons... Well, we're cogitating, a lot. We just don't have the square meters, but I can tell you that we're working on it, and I'd love to see this project up and running by the end of the year. If I'm writing this, it's a bit like a request to the universe. Fingers crossed.
As you can see, the Lemon Bay collection is strongly inspired by the heroines of the New Wave, a little Audrey Hepburn and a hint of Bardot... In short, the 50's- 60's period has strongly inspired me for the universe of the boutique, the wicker and Formica furniture, the Mado sideboards and the pastel colors. In general, I loved this ultra-vitamin and colorful collection, and I'm thinking about this because I recently re-watched Les Demoiselles de Rochefort and I think that subconsciously must have influenced me too... So it was obvious to hunt for furniture for the occasion. So we got in touch with the heroes of the chine, the website Selencyformerly Brocante Lab, the online flea market site. We made a wide selection of furniture, most of which we refurbished in the colors of the collection. In the case of Formica, we cleaned the furniture thoroughly to bring out the pastel colors of this controversial material! And best of all, we're not going to keep all the furniture! So they're on sale for the end of the pop-up: you can buy them by clicking on this link and pick them up from Monday May 29!
As you know, I'm also passionate about giving talented people I admire carte blanche to reinvent our collection. We were lucky enough to collaborate with the delightful Melody Leblond and her brilliant wordings "leMON AMOUR", or "Je suis venir te dire que j'aime le citron"... We're fans. These little words are on sale at the lemonade shop, priced at 25 euros for A4 and 35 euros for A3, all numbered and signed.
And at the studio, we love Virginie Morgandvery much. We've got her silkscreen prints on the studio wall, and when she said yes to drawing scenes of life in our fantasy Lemon Bay, we jumped for joy. So she came up with 3 posters, all dressed in Wear Lemonade of course, and all screen-printed by our darling Oschon from Print Van Parison sublime paper Arjowiggings. A collector's item!
Small posters are 55 euros, medium posters are 75 euros, and large posters are 90 euros!
And for the opening of the pop-up, we asked the madmen Toqué Brothersto come and draw the famous "Lemonade Shop" and "Bons Baisers de Lemon Bay" on the window.
I could also tell you about the painstaking work done by Charlotte, our Queen of Pinatas, in imagining a veritable miniature city inspired by Miami, Gouville sur mer and Los Angeles... (yes, we do like big geographical differences). Simoné and Charlotte made an adorable little video, which I'll show you soon, but which you can watch in the lemonade shop on this sublime TV. Samsung...It's a bit like our own ball pool, and we've lost count of the number of children sitting in front of it over the last three weeks! The video set has been dismantled and reworked into the store window you've no doubt seen a number of times on social networks! Well done my Charlotte, and to tell you the truth, she worked for about 2 months on this titanic project!
As you can also see from these photos, we've been working on our new shipping boxes! Normally they arrive with the kraft side out and the inside fully printed! Once you've received your order, you can turn your box upside down using the little diagram, and use it to decorate your home! It's a box made in France, in super-strong paper also made in France! In fact, they're so beautiful that we've decided to make a colorful wall out of them for studio orders... And I love seeing your delighted faces when you come to pick up your parcels at the boutique!
I also have a DIY aside to tell you about a little technical constraint we encountered with this space. As the storage area for our stock is a little further away from the boutique, we had to find a way of getting the storage space within easy reach, especially when there was a weekend rush. We don't yet have the huge budgets needed to make ultra-practical custom-made furniture, but we've got the D-system running through our veins! Ikea pedestals, 4 cleats, a drill and a really nice dad, and we've got some top-notch storage racks! As you know, I'm a big fan of using constraints to develop creativity... Here's another good example of an easy solution for just a few euros!
I'd also like to thank the new "Lemon Lemon" lemonade, which quenched our thirst during all our workshops, and the rush in the booths (I promise next time we'll have more booths!) Thanks also to Sonos for following us from pop-up to pop-up for the musical ambience! And as many of you asked us who did the flower arrangements, we're talking about the gorgeous chicks from Racine Paris ! I hope you've enjoyed this guided and documented tour! I'm almost tempted to tell you about the yellow receipts... There's too much going on in our little brains, you know...
I give you a big hug! And I'd like to thank the whole lemonade studio 1,000,000 times over for their involvement and the sweet madness that resonates with me.
