Hello company!

I realized that I had never posted you the pictures of the renovated studio. That was a few months ago! I've got a thousand things to tell you about it, and not just me either! We had some crazy decorating ideas and great partners to help us get started! And I've got to tell you, this was the first time I didn't do it all by myself, as I asked contractors for help with the heavy lifting! Namely: demolishing a wall, building custom storage units and laying a sublime parquet floor! But more on that later. I warn you, I've got a lot to tell you, so this article is going to be very rich and complete. I'm going to show you every corner of the studio (or nearly every corner), tell you about each of our partners and, at the end of this article, the members of the studio will tell you a little about their best work and/or decorating memories of the studio!

I believe that for people to feel comfortable in a place, and to want to get up in the morning to go to work (including motivating themselves to move out of bed), it's essential that their workplace is warm and cheerful. So for me, the color lover, having work done in the studio was the perfect excuse to indulge my other passion: imagining decors and combining "unconventional" colors on walls!

Someone asked me how I decided to combine this or that object / color / mood, and to tell you the truth, it's very instinctive. I don't really have a method, I often start with a strong dominant, such as the Paper Mint Granit wallpaper below, and compose around it, imagining the powdery decor it inspires. Afterwards, I have to confess that sometimes I don't make the right color choices... I told you on Instagram about a colorful misfire at home, but I also like to challenge myself by combining crazy colors like brick red and powder pink. Or emerald green and pink (again) because I know these are combinations I love in clothes!

In short, these are pretty complex processes to explain. During our pop-ups, I don't really have a fixed idea of what the next decorations will be until I start to hunt out one or more pieces of furniture that will set the tone for the final ambience - it's a sort of serendipitous sequence!

The pink sofa and the mint cushion are made.com products, the fluffly cushion is a Leroy Merlin and the striped cushion is a Sostrene Grenethe fridge a Smeg found on Le bon coin and the sliding cupboard doors are covered with Granite wallpaper. I'm not going to lie to you, we're all messy ... And when you've got a clothing brand, the mess tends to get into every nook and cranny of the office. It's a place of life and experimentation, where creativity all too often spills out of our heads in an anarchic fashion, without really controlling the explosive way it spills out from under our desks or onto our drawers, ready to explode and so on. After that, I speak for myself, because I'm a monster, a master of messes. Simoné calls me Taz the Tasmanian MonsterI think that sums it up.  But contrary to all that, when I tidy up, it's from top to bottom, and generally I always do it at inappropriate times, when we're in a rush with a thousand things to hand in. In those moments, I tidy like crazy. But I've heard it's very healthy, as it helps you put your head in order and sort out your ideas... A good excuse to procrastinate for some, but it's how I calm my inner panic...

All this to say that for me, the studio should be a physical extension of our digital universe, where we can find our taste for color, a nice organized mess and feel right at home.

And the starting point for the office renovation was that I was fed up with the paint on our floor, which was certainly bright, but even when clean, gave the studio a dirty, untidy look... So I wanted parquet for a cosy feel, but a light parquet. For the floors, we went from a very dirty white to a superb parquet from Décorasol. This Parisian family business is something of an expert when it comes to floor coverings. They have hundreds and hundreds of different parquet, solid and laminate, as well as carpet and PVC flooring. And best of all, there's never any disappointment, because all their references are in stock! It's a brand I've been following since I moved to Paris! For the studio, we chose a very light oak parquet covering the entire "office" area and a pool-blue lino for our kitchen and "chill" area. I can tell you that we don't regret taking this break for a second, because white floor paint looks great in photos, but it's really not practical in real life, and skateboards roll much better on smooth parquet!

So let's start with the entrance! You can find the armchair and the cushions, the coffee tablethe multiple suspensionthe library and theclock on Made.com. The concrete lamp at The French Vikingsand the sandwich board from a Rungis wholesaler (click on the arrows to scroll through the photos!).

The entrance is where you pick up your orders, so even if it's chaos behind the scenes, we do our best to keep this room tidy and pleasant to look at. Our order shelf, showroom mirror and a lot of our furniture come from the Made.com website, as you can see. It has a very specialized selection that I love (I'm a real customer for my apartment), so there are quite a few nuggets on the site, in short, a must-know address for design lovers.

It really is a mini showroom, where current collections are presented, your parcels are sorted and you have to hide your (filthy) corporate printer... Luckily, we've found a great solution: a mini jungle! The vegetation in the studio is provided by La Grande Serrea plant rental company. They came straight to the studio to install our cacti and other Monstera plants. We even programmed a little alert so we wouldn't forget to water them every Tuesday. Fortunately, they've thought of everything, and every month, one of their team members comes to check that everything's going well, and gives us a few tips along the way! And I have to come out of the green plant closet, because since the big greenhouse arrived at the office, I haven't had a single plant die in 1 week. I feel like I'm growing wings, and on a personal note, I'm the happy mother of 5 little plants that are doing very well in my home!

So now it's my turn to show you my corner office, my little corner of Brooklyn bricks repainted white. I'm enjoying these photos because, as I write these lines, my office is a disaster area. I've even taken up residence on another desk, to tell you the truth... But as of tomorrow, I'm regaining control of my space. I think I'll show you the extent of it on an Instagram story. I can't find anything under my desk anymore... By the way, Simoné has written a little anecdote that will illustrate the situation perfectly!

"Propriety demands that we remain silent about our drunken evenings at the Lemonade Studio when there is so much to tell... But my favorite (and almost daily) moment remains when Lisa is looking for her phone. Taz barges in, turns all the desks upside down in a panic, the studio falls silent and we exchange glances. A few minutes later, a timid voice announces, "Hey, has anyone seen my phone? "Everyone  laughs as they answer "no" to the chain! And of course it was in an unlikely place or in his pocket... " Simoné

Table and chair Made.com, La petit brocanteuse china cabinet repainted in Setting Plaster by Farrow and Balland behind my desk is my mood board with a whole bunch of little things I love that I hang up as the year goes by... My plastic skateboard (hello I'm 15), very practical for going to see Laure at the other end of the office (as long as it's tidy, I don't slalom very well...) And this little gem of a vintage radio renovated into a bluetooth speaker A.bsolument!

Above my desk, as above the large work tables of the rest of the team, is our famous garland lamp! I love the brightness these garlands bring to the studio, because we don't have ceiling lights, and office lamps when it's dark at 4pm in the middle of winter are really depressing. Ours come from AmazonThey're 15m long, but it's a pain to get the bulbs, because they're barrel bulbs, and they're getting scarce...

For the walls, we used a lot of paint cans Farrow & Ball and wallpaper Paper Mint. And then for one of the walls, we made a Pinata wall, you know with Charlotte. The pinata wall was one of our first projects together, so it was a no-brainer to have one in the studio! And it goes perfectly with the "Paper art" corner and our paper collection in the office! By the way, here's Charlotte's studio anecdote:

"I think my "favorite" place in the office is the toilet. Already for its incredible tropical Paper Mint wallpaper (which (Lisa will soon show you on Instagram), but above all because this room is the origin of a very good story: we have a sort of automatic toilet paper ordering system for the studio. And one day, purple or lilac toilet paper arrived, a far cry from our usual white. We all know Lisa's aversion to purple. So I asked Benoît (our office manager at the time), who was in charge of this type of order, why and he told me: "I thought it was original". We had a good laugh about it, and after much hesitation about ordering yellow toilet paper, we went back to the timeless white! "Charlotte

Let me introduce you to the corner where Laure, our pattern queen, and Philippine, her assistant pattern-maker, live! Her wall is painted with a Farrow& Ball Mint color, the Theresa Green and the radiator in Parma Gray.

And I'll let Laure and Philippine tell their story!

"For me, the chill corner is still linked to a rather epic anecdote. We had decided to replace the yellow carpet with Décorasol mosaic lino. But because we're budget-conscious, and because no driver wanted to transport the 4m-long roll, Charlotte and I decided to go and get it on foot, with the roll on each of our shoulders, braving the summer rain, crossing the streets and crosswalks in front of the astonished eyes of passers-by, and then taking them up the stairs (because they were too big for the elevator ...). A good plan galère as we know how to do at the studio!" Laure

"I love the pink sofa. As a newcomer to the studio, I have the impression that when I'm on the sofa, it's time for confidences, and sitting on it, every lunchtime I hear the craziest and sometimes a little weirdest anecdotes told by the people in the studio, which always make us laugh a lot every time! And since my arrival, I've lost count of the number of times I've fallen asleep on it after lunch. It's pink, comfortable, but not fluffy enough to be too lazy to go back and sew (clever), but still there are plenty of cushions, and Anaëlle is always nearby to ask me if I'm going to fall asleep on it again after eating..." Philippine

I can tell you that this pink sofa got a lot of ink flowing, when I asked the people who work at the studio to give me an anecdote from the studio! And now here's Julie and Anaëlle's story!

"Julie had asked us to look after her son Tsigo for a morning because she had an appointment with Lisa.  to do the voice-over for a sewing tutorial. No screams, no tears: everything was going great with Tsigo at the Studio. And then it was time to change the diaper... I went over there with great confidence, and in no time at all, the pink sofa was transformed into a changing table. But the diaper doesn't close, the stickers don't work, I can't even find them, panic (in denial, I even wondered if Pampers had invented a new Back to the Future-style self-grip system, but no, of course). I call for help and François, Laure's trainee, comes to the rescue with a tape gun with a handle - yes, the kind you use for moving! I burst out laughing and decide to start again with the remaining diaper and Julie on the phone for an express "diaper threading" tutorial!" Anaëlle

"Let me set the scene. June 2016, the start of summer. It's sweltering hot and I'm pregnant to the hilt.
At the time, I'm still working with Mai, who rents an office at Lemonade studio.
As a result, I often come to work at the office, which is much more practical than the house, and the joy of meeting colleagues in the morning, which, I have to say, has brightened up this pregnancy.
By this time of the year, we'd all found our Belgian avatars, first names and professions included (don't take this the wrong way, Belgian friends, we're really all about kindness and respect for others). I don't remember them all. But two caught my attention more than others, Jean-Noël (Simoné), photographer, facialist and what have you, and Krykry alias Krystel (Maria), owner of a fricadelle stall called "la Krystadel". Sweet Jesus, I laughed so hard at their gargantuan, outlandish imitations that one leg of the sofa gave way, and we thought my water would break in the studio. It didn't happen, but it would have been quite an anecdote! "Julie

These 5 tables are the desks of Simoné, Anaëlle, Cécile, Maria and Maya. So the anecdotes from the last three bring this article to a close! I hope you've enjoyed it and found the answers to all your questions!

"I remember that last summer, Lisa had the idea in mind to completely reorganize the office. A pretty cool idea, only it took her an afternoon when the four of us, along with Charlotte and Simoné, decided to "surprise the others". So off we went, turning the whole office upside down in 50 degrees (at least), assembling our new little storage drawers and Billy shelves. All this under the appalled gaze of our logistician, who came to visit us by surprise in Paris that day, and who clearly understood why we needed him so much." Cécile

"This summer in June, in the sweltering heat of the office (and not knowing what to do to cool off), Céline, our freelance graphic designer, suddenly told us about the hyper-refreshing "drift bath". The whole team looks at her attentively and wants to know more! Céline explains: all you have to do is put a small bottle of water in the freezer and, once it's chilled, place it between your thighs, but high up! Perplexed we were! The next day, everyone was sitting quietly, an icy appendage protruding from between our thighs! What a sight! Maria

"A year ago, I moved in just a few minutes' walk from Lemonade Studio. Convenient for coming to work in the morning, towel in my hair and Tupperware under my arm... But also and above all for bringing home all sorts of objects, saved in extremis from the dumpster. I can often be seen walking up the rue du Faubourg Saint-Denis, loaded down with unusual and very bulky objects. A huge roll of yellow carpet, whole boxes of paper flowers, Christmas ornaments, shipping boxes, chairs, plates, a paper hotel... In short, in just a few months my flat has been renamed "L'annexe du bureau". Maya

Thanks again to all our partners!
