Happy Thursday my little chestnuts.

I'm so happy to bring you this article, it was really no easy task to set up this do it yourself, let me explain... Since the Sarenza workshop workshop I mentioned yesterday, I think I've developed a very serious pathology: "Acute Shinningitis". I clearly only want to wear shiny shoes. I don't even look at my other shoes anymore, that's to say.... all I want is mirror effect, silver leather, glitter on the tips of my feet, and if I can wear lurex socks at the same time, I'm happy ( and crazy ). And I think that my silver shoes, which I had already shown you in one of my last happy friday have become my favorite pair, because for me, there's really no greater satisfaction than wearing things you've made yourself. So I thought I shouldn't be the only one grinning like a moron every time I look at my feet. It's the kind of do-it-yourself that I love, that's easy, that has a crazy effect. So back to the subject at hand, and why was this one so complicated to put together? Well, because I could only find this metal foil from suppliers who didn't sell small quantities, and it was hard to send you out to buy 30 meters of metal foil to customize just one pair of shoes. And then Léa, a lovely participant in the last workshop whom I'd already met at the launch of make my party at La Cartonnerie, sent me an e-mail to let me know that you could find small quantities of metal paper in Paris! Yippee! You really are the best....

Difficulty: Easy and so beautiful.

Time: 1h per shoe.

Cost: 10€ excluding shoes.

For this DIY you need:

  • - Metal foil found at Weber métaux, 6 euros per metre ( one metre is more than enough ). 9 rue de Poitou, 75003 Paris , thanks Léa!
  • - One or more pairs of shoes, here two Sarenza models that you'll find at here and here.
  • - The flower patterns you'll find here
  • - A leather needle
  • - Thread
  • - Scissors
  • - Thimble
  • - Pen

Download the flower patterns, print them out and trace the outlines on the metal paper with the bic pen.

Cut out a multitude of flowers, at least twenty per shoe, to reproduce this DIY.

Once you've cut out the flowers, take a few minutes to bend the petals to add volume.

Bring your thimble, thread and leather needle.

Stitch on the inside and out through the center of the flower to the outside of the shoe.

Stitch once or twice to secure the flower, then move on to the next one (you can tie a knot each time for a cleaner result). Don't hesitate to stitch the flowers very close together, for a fuller bathing cap effect.

On the pair of silver pumps, I'm going for the "evening" version, meaning "really crazy", I'm covering the stem on the foot completely with metal flowers and I'm also adding a few flowers on the strap around the ankle!

And TA - DA! The disco queen version and the "wise girl" version
