DIY Pomp(ons) it up

I hope you're well, and before I start I wanted to thank you for all your absolutely brilliant words on my last greetings card post! THANK YOU for sending me boxes of love, it's so warm and invigorating!

So today, as planned, it's DIY, nothing revolutionary but nothing like a good customization of a cuddly sweater... To keep you warm, to bring a touch of fun in your grey January day-to-day life, to become the idol of the under 6s etc... To tell you the truth, I fell in love with this image from Tavi on Pinterest, that I kept this idea in a corner of my mind, until the day I came across the magic tool the "pompon maker" on the famous site MILH ("Make it like Huguette"... you can't make it up...) It's not a revolution in the sense that "you don't insert wool into a machine, and three gestures later, you get a pompon", no. But it does make life a lot easier, and the pom-pom is pretty darn neat in the end - all that's left is to even out the tips and you're done. It's time to get your wool out again, and I'm issuing a challenge: make me dream and send me a photo of your creation, entirely covered in pompons... A nice surprise at the end. A big kiss!

-Cost around 20 euros... (excluding sweater).

-Time approx. 2 hours, if you have the magic object I'm going to show you...

-Difficulty "finger in the nose"...

 To make this DIY you'll need :

• -A sweater, in this case a Kujten.
• -Wool (5 balls in different colors)
• -Scissors
• -Large needle
• A set of pom-pom making tools, MILH (ok, the old cardboard round technique will work too).

Using one of the pom-pom-making tools, take the first two pieces and place them face to face.

Then start wrapping your wool around the half-circle. Once you feel you've put on enough wool, after a few "back and forth" windings, check that the wool is evenly distributed around the half-circle.

Carry out the same steps with the second half-circle, then clip them together using the notches provided (this is the magic of this tool).

 Now cut your wires, passing the tip of your scissors through the small groove to create your pom-pom.

Pass a 20 cm length of thread through the groove, wrap it around the pompom and secure it with a knot, then another, just to be sure.

Don't forget to save some length before cutting, as you'll need it to sew your pom-poms onto the sweater.

Remove the magic frame and refresh the cut of your pompom with scissors. Repeat this step until you have a pretty family of pompoms in different sizes and colors.

Pass one end of your pompom thread through the eye of your needle, and stitch the sweater, picking up a few stitches.

 Remember to pull your thread as tight as possible so that the pom-pom is firmly attached to the sweater, as flush as possible so that it doesn't fall off later... Stitch several times and finish with a double or even triple knot - you can never be too careful.

Now you've got your first tassel in place, all you have to do is tie the others. And TA-DA!
