THE LITTLE BLACK DRESS
Hello my little cats!
I hope you're all well, but today I'm going to tell you a funny story. Almost a year ago, I discovered the mind-blowing work of Charlotte Abramow, a brilliant 20-year-old photographer. In your teeth! I hooked up with her on Instagram to meet her. We meet and I fall in love with her. She's funny, talented and downright crazy. We started working together on the blog ici et là, and then she was the photographer who signed the photos for my next two books. One day in September, Charlotte called me to ask if we could make her a little black paper dress for a rendering she was to do at Gobelins. The subject is a diptych for Guerlain's little black dress. Oh yes, I forgot to tell you that this Charlotte is still at school honing her technique... So we had some fun with the subject and designed and made her an ephemeral black non-woven dress. A 6-handed project in the office, a pure product of the lemonade studio.

A few days after seeing the final photo, Guerlain contacted me by chance, and asked if I'd be interested in collaborating with them. So I took it as a sign, and when I arrived at the appointment, I immediately showed them Charlotte's images. They fell in love too... Today, I'd like to share with you the fruit of our collaboration, our little black paper dress that can be placed wherever you like, that swings, and above all, that can be perfumed to diffuse your favorite fragrance like a new home fragrance.
To make this little Do It Yourself black dress, you'll need :
- Download the dress pattern here,
- Black paper,
- A dull scalpel,
- A ruler,
- Scissors,
- Glue,
- Black fleece.
To get started: download and cut out the dress pattern.
Transfer it to the black paper and cut out the two parts.
Now you've got your two pieces and can start assembling!
Take your blunt scalpel and your ruler and lightly mark the edges to facilitate folding later. And now fold!
Take your glue and assemble the shoulders of the dress using the tabs.
Now move on to the sides and carefully glue each tab together.
Now that your dress base is ready, we can move on to the embellishment! Cut strips of black non-woven fabric in different widths (from 1 to 4cm) and 30cm long.
Fold the strips accordion-style, pinching the non-woven with your fingernail. Do the same for all the strips.
Take your glue and apply it to the top of the strip, tapping lightly with your finger to remove any excess.
Carefully place the first ruffle and turn it around the dress.
Take a second ruffle and superimpose it on the first, continuing with the different sizes as you wish.
And TA-DA!
Now you can spray the non-woven perfume, La Petite Robe Noire by Guerlain (it's better), and then diffuse the scent in your room!
And because I like to spoil you, I'm offering you the chance to win the complete range of all these little black dresses by Guerlain. It's very simple, just leave me a comment telling me what your perfect little black dress looks like? I'll draw lots next Monday at noon. The results will be posted at the end of this article!
Drum roll: the winner is Faustine with her little black dress in 4ans! Thank you all for taking part, your dresses made me dream!
