TA-DA! Maximum excitement like every quarter, I grant you, but this time it's a little different! It's a little different because Friday the 29th marks 1 year since the Wear Lemonade wardrobe adventure began. I can't believe it, but I can't believe it at all! It's also different because on Friday we'll have a new e-shop! 2016 the year of digital change for us! And for this collection, the whole team really grew up making it and we put all our energy, craziness and heart into it, so here's the emotion once again!
Can you believe it? I'm talking about the fifth Wear Lemonade collection... These last 12 months have flown by at phenomenal speed, 12 months of little prayers that you'd like our collections, that the site wouldn't crash, that the post wouldn't lose your parcels, that we'd get the prototypes for the photo shoots in on time... 12 months of getting to know you and listening to you (the plebiscite of the "My little cat), making mistakes we'll never make again (bringing out a pair of short overalls in August when you're already buying tights), jumping for joy when sales take off (the adrenalin of having struck a chord with you), racking our brains to come up with ideas for little surprises (the parcel experience, packaging is my passion). And then 12 months of learning that nothing is impossible if you give yourself the means to believe hard enough.
This has been the richest year of my life, and I'm very proud to give you a sneak preview of our latest collection, "Les Baigneuses". This collection is the fruit of a real team effort, one that not only learns, but also enjoys what it does! We've had a thousand pieces of feedback from you on how the site is working, we've observed your behavior as users during sales, read your emails with requests for larger visuals, more images, etc... It's as if we've put everything in a shaker to deliver the new www.wearlemonade.com. So there are two last days left to shop the current collection, because on Thursday the site will be on stand-by (psst, we've still got a few sizes left)...
This collection is also the first for which we've collaborated with an illustrator for our print: Charlotte MolasCharlotte Molas is a little lady I've known for a long time, but who only started illustrating a few years ago. I knew about her work, but I didn't know she was the one behind these drawings! I think she has a very poetic pencil stroke, a little old-fashioned but very modern at the same time! I was thrilled when she agreed to collaborate with us on an exclusive design that gave the collection its name: Les Baigneuses!
And what would bathers be without swimwear? So we decided to collaborate with the very best, the super chicks from Noo Underwear (Girl power!). Elissa and Anaïs are the dynamic entrepreneurs who created this lingerie and swimwear brand: their cuts, materials and customer service are second to none. A friend put us in touch and we thought we could work wonders together! We came up with 2 must-have swimsuits, all retro in style! The two-piece with URSULA ruffle (Andress, forget the Little Mermaid) and the one-piece with EVA pockets (Green, always a James Bond girl! )... I'll tell you more about them in mid-May when they're released!
And we also knew that when you decided to dress at Wear Lemonade, you were looking for that little something extra, so we signed the wisest pieces with our little curly heart, which I think is becoming our signature. And since I'm also keen to come up with easy-going pieces for uninspired days, here's how our ANA was born, the no-questions-asked sweatshirt dress, with a boat neckline (you can't do that again) and a low neckline in the back (not too deep so your bras stay invisible...).
On Friday, you'll find CHIARA, the latest addition, in a colorama of 5 colors! We went in search of the perfect dotted plumetis, delicate, white as it should be, and not transparent. Ideal for sunny days, or downright cool for a civil wedding! And for fans of blue, our soft, faded skinny jeans that go with everything! And with the wedding and prom season just around the corner, we thought Chiara would be perfect in a light, striped silk organza, woven by us in Italy to match our colorful desires, and lined in silk habotai to complete your ceremonial outfits. We've taken care of the details, I tell you! In short, Friday is Chiara's day, with our Mon petit chat (already online for the impatient) and even our PEPITA socks... I'm giving you a big hug and crossing my fingers until my knuckles break, hoping you like everything!
I'd like to thank our reader-models who applied to be the new lemon faces of Wear Lemonade. It was extremely complicated to make a choice and we were lucky enough to be able to bring together Mélanie, Sarah, Juliette, Liate, Aude and Grace, these 6 sublime and sparkling fairies who knew how to make the pieces in the collection their own!
