Thank you for your words, for your patience when I'm a bit long-winded, for your loyalty and for the boxes of love you send me every day... Send you as many positive vibes as you send me. I'm working on a little trick that should please you, a sort of lemon-flavored "goodies" on each article to thank you and get us talking.... SUSPENSE unbearable, I know, it's being finalized and I'm not getting my hopes up if I tell you it'll be up and running in ten days or so...

Let's get back to business... The first DIY Gastby 2.0 featuring Christmas spirit. Yes, it's possible. To tell you how the idea came about, we have to go back a few weeks: I was invited to the launch of a new sock brand. "Pas chassé" ( Ok, the name is downright adorable) I don't often go to launch parties, for lots of reasons... But for this one, I was curious because Mai directed the look book video for the first collection, and because "Pas chassé" has set up shop in the offices of lots of girlfriends... I went there and discovered Mai's film, very cool as usual, and the collection of Made in France socks designed to be worn with shoes. I didn't need any more convincing, as I love the socks/shoes look, and the collection is very successful. I love discovering the excitement of the designers, their desires, their concepts and their desires. Coralie, one of the two designers, drops the words "jeweled socks" - okay, I'm on the verge of a brain-knot, I can already see myself with rhinestone necklaces around my ankles, charms outlining the strap of an invisible salome, I pick up the phone and get stuck: "Jeweled socks", "Jeweled socks", "Jeweled socks"... I walk into my house with my little pair of lurex socks, all bouncy... I've got a DIY idea for festive socks, to wear in a hurry and place near the tree, just to pull out all the stops for the bearded fireplace-lover.

For this DIY:

Cost approx. 10 euros (material excluding socks - yeah, that's a hell of a "minus" for not hunting...)

-Time about 1 hour, yes, I assure you...

-Difficulty "no need to be an expert"...

-A pair of lurex socks,

6 large rectangular rhinestones, and a few sew-on rhinestones with crimps,

- sequins of all kinds (all available from La Droguerie),

- thread and needle, and a little patience.

Start by sewing the large rectangular rhinestones onto the first sock. I recommend starting with the middle rhinestone, to define the center of the sock. And don't sew these rhinestones in a hurry, but take your time because they're the "heaviest" elements and need to be firmly attached.

Then place the larger sequins all around your rhinestone line, just laying them down to define their future locations. And immortalize their place with a small photo taken with your cell phone, to serve as a model.

And don't forget the trick of folding the sequins of one of the latest DIY. It changes everything I assure you, alternate... and embroider with a hand stitch, the fact that the hole is in the middle of the sequin, obliges to make a large stitch but I don't find it disturbing, I find it sticks well to the 1920 theme, graphic as it should be.

I found these completely crazy sequins at the drugstore, just black circles and little silver squares that are almost antique, perfect for our story. As before, embroider them on the sock, and intersperse them with the other round sequins.
