My little kittens and here I am giving you my inspiration, a few years ago now, I found myself in the Balenciaga boutique, looking for a scarf. "kieffeh/jewelryBut I wanted to see what it looked like so I could make my own (DIY when you like us...) Well, there was a waiting list of at least 6 months to acquire these precious keffiehs... Okay, don't panic, I'll make one for myself one day... And then life takes its course, I forget and the other day I come across this photo from the Balenciaga autumn-winter 2007/2008 fashion show (Nicolas Ghesquière is back!) and my heart leaps, the emotion intact, I tell myself it's just too easy to do the same thing, all I need is a nice scarf. And maybe it would even make a good Christmas present... Who knows? In any case, it's a DIY that I proposed for the second workshop with La Redouteand I think the girls really liked it...

For this DIY:

- Cost about 30 euros (material excluding scarf)

- Time approx. 2 hours or even 3 hours if you're not very concentrated...

- Difficulty "fingers in the nose"...

To make this DIY, you'll need..:

  • - A 70cm x 70cm scarf, in this case a La Redoute,
  • - A keffiyeh ( brought back from a trip to India... I know the color is crazy) ,
  • - A 50 cm strip of fringe,
  • - 140 cm eyelet band,
  • - One roll of chain,
  • - Multicolored thread pompoms, coins, rings,
  • - Scissors, flat-nose pliers, spool and wires.

Start by placing the silk scarf on the back of the keffiyeh, then pin it gently. Then machine-stitch the two scarves together around the edges.

Take the eyelet strip and thread the chain through each hole. Once all the holes are occupied, distribute the chain length to create a regular rhythm. To lock in the chain lengths, I recommend you stitch by hand between two eyelets, using the thread and needle.

Pin the eyelet strip to the scarves, secure the top of the strip and machine stitch. The eyelet band doesn't go all the way around the keffiyeh, but only two widths - a right angle. So when you fold your scarf into a point, you'll see only the "jewelry part".

Now pin the fringe band to the point of your scarf, then as in the previous step, machine-stitch on the lower part of the eyelet band this time.

We now move on to my favorite part, hanging the tassels... Here we're talking about yarn pompons and small parts found at the Chinese (Jacky perles, 33 rue de Pastourelle 75003 ). Prepare small bunches of thread pompons, coins, small figurines or other medals and souvenirs.

Using flat-nose pliers, open the rings, hang your gris-gris on the chains and TA-DA!

And for the curious, I'm wearing a Zara trench coat, an old h&m beret and nail polish. nailmatic ZUKI...
