Hello Seamstresses!

Since the start of Make My Lemonade, many of you have been wondering where to buy supplies and find the right fabrics. We thought it would be nice to give you a few nice (or at least useful) addresses, both on the Internet and in Paris ... So here are a few places we like to go to.

Haberdashers:

Fil 2000 : 65 rue Réaumur, 75002 Paris, 01 42 36 48 80. Open Monday-Friday 9am to 6:30pm, Saturday 9am to 1pm.

A veritable Ali-Baba's cave, you'll find here above all small accessories, perfect for adding to your wardrobe. sewing kit You'll also find pattern canvas, rulers, needles, pins, presser feet, etc. Prices often defy the competition, so be patient when you enter this handkerchief-sized boutique!

Hamon 54 rue de Cléry, 75002 Paris, 01 42 33 27 59. Open Monday-Thursday 9 a.m.-6 p.m., Friday 9 a.m.-4.15 p.m.

Like Fil 2000, this boutique offers a wide selection of products, plus a scissor-sharpening service. You can also order a mannequin or specialized books, as well as some more professional accessories.

Moline Haberdashery 2,4,6 rue Livingstone, 75018 Paris, 09 64 18 15 14. Open Monday 10am-7pm, Tuesday-Saturday 9.45am-7pm.

A little more expensive than the two above, this haberdashery has a wide selection, including small Liberty fabric coupons for those who like patchwork, tulle and some fabrics by the meter, as well as some very pretty buttons. Sewing workshops are organized for beginners, and you can register online. Across the street, at Moline Tissus, you can also buy fabric by the meter.

Mercerie Saint-Pierre: 6 rue Charles Nodier, 75018 Paris, 01 42 64 10 86. Open Monday 1.30pm-6.30pm, Tuesday-Saturday 10am-6.30pm.

When you're shopping at Marché St Pierre and you're missing a button, you can always go there. Don't forget there's a basement!

Paris Ribbon 172, rue Saint-Denis, 75002 Paris, 01 42 36 62 82. Open Monday-Friday 9.30am-6.30pm.

MSM Ozel France : 73 rue Réaumur, 75002 Paris, 01 40 28 90 92. Open Monday-Friday 10am-6.30pm.

Les marchands de tissus :

Sacrés-Coupons : 4 rue d'Orsel, 75018 Paris, 01 42 64 69 96. Open Monday-Saturday 9.30am-7pm.

If you're a frequent visitor to the blog, you'll know that this store is our favorite for fabric coupons. The arrivals are regular, the choices judicious, and you're bound to leave with 3 meters of fabric under your arms. What's more, an e-commerce site is soon to open!

Marché Saint-Pierre Dreyfus: 2 rue Charles Nodier, 75018 Paris, 01 46 06 92 25. Open Monday-Friday 10am-6.30pm, Saturday 10am-7pm.

The grand institution of the Saint-Pierre district, with a multi-storey boutique. Be careful to avoid rush hour, it's as crowded as the metro!

Saint-Pierre Coupons 1 Place Saint-Pierre, 75018 Paris, 01 42 52 10 79. Open 9:30am-7pm.

You'll find 3m coupons all over the place, but take the time to rummage around!

Tissu Market 18 rue du Sentier, 75002 Paris, 01 42 21 47 53. Open Monday-Friday 10h-13h then 14h-18h. 

You'll find fabrics you can't find elsewhere (certain silks, neoprene, etc.).

Pretty ribbons and lace at Mokuba: 18 rue Montmartre, 75001 Paris, 01 40 13 81 41. Open Monday-Friday 9.30am-6.30pm.

For students or professionals looking for made-to-measure fabrics or finishes (zips, for example) Socolatex: 12 Rue du Bourg l'Abbé, 75003 Paris, 01 48 04 97 37.

For blank dyeing materials and a wide choice of dyes and tools, go to Shop Text Ponsard 7 boulevard du Temple, 75003 Paris, 01 42 72 56 40. Open Monday-Saturday 10am-6pm.
