HOW TO SEW A PYJAMA JACKET?

To follow up this torrent of anecdotes and good vibes around the Princesse Tam Tam x Wear Lemonade collection, I'm giving you one hell of a Christmas present: the pajama pattern! You may already know this, but at Wear Lemonade we offer ready-to-wear or make-your-own fashions using our sewing patterns. So when we started working with Princesse Tam Tam, I thought to myself that they'd never agree to share a few of their manufacturing secrets...!

When I opened my blog, my father said to me: "But you're not going to give your ideas to everyone, are you?" (But I've already told you that). And that was the best idea of all, to SHARE with you what has always driven me: wiggling my 10 fingers and telling stories. During the various meetings held to put together this collection, I made my slightly crazy request to Princesse: "Could we have the pattern for the star piece, the pyjamas!". I was afraid I'd get the same reaction as my father on their side, "But we're not going to give away our manufacturing secrets, are we?". But after some discussion, the good news came through! Princesse Tam Tam wants to spoil the dressmakers too! Hallelujah!

So today, it's all about the pyjama jacket! We'll post the tutorial for the pants a little later, as it would have been indigestible to inundate you with technical info on the video. And you'll see, the tailoring collar is quite a piece of sewing... To tell you the truth, we're planning to post the pants on December 22: by the time you finish your jacket, the pants video will be online. If you'd like to put your pyjamas under the tree on the 23rd, you can already take time off work! The jacket and pajama pants will be your December patterns, and in January you'll get the pattern for the Simona shirt and a gorgeous pencil skirt, Ada... I'll say no more...

This pyjama jacket was sewn in our lipstick viscoseavailable on Wear Lemonade! We found the raspberry pink bias at Fil 2000, and our buttons to cover at Prym, also available at Fil 2000.

• To sew this pyjama jacket, you'll need 1m 50 of fabric for the largest size. I advise you to use viscose, as it's very soft, but a nice crisp poplin can be good too. After that, you can go for stiffer fabrics, if you absolutely don't intend to sleep in them!

• 5 12mm buttons to cover
• 2m of coordinated piping, but you can also create a cuff and gimp it, as well as a patch pocket on the chest!
• A little patience for the tailoring collar and piping!

And you'll see, the pajama tutorial looks a bit barbaric at first glance, especially the elasticated back. But in all honesty, we did it in 2h30 (not including cutting the pdf and cutting the fabric, because to be honest to the end, cutting fabric is like threading a can - it's the most boring thing!)
